The Web as a graph: structure and coverage concepts, Web graph analysis; Small world phenomenon, Scale-free graphs, Formal models to describe Web structure; Information Retrieval : Handling unstructured, semi-structured, structured data on the Web; Link structure and link analysis algorithms; HITS and PageRank, Learning to Rank, Search Engines and search issues; Social computing on the Web: The Social Web, Mining Social-network Graphs: graph centrality concepts, community detection techniques; Applications of Large-scale Machine Learning to Web and Social Media analysis, Current trends and research problems.
